This antenna rocks! I finally got a chance to use it on my first POTA activation and performance was stellar. Not only was I getting out across the country but was also getting some respectable DX contacts.
I ended up going with this because it is still pretty small for portable operations but it is more ruggedized and weather resistant than many of the other options out there. It also has higher power handling than most so I can use it for QRO operations or possibly even field day.
Paired with an arborist throw line and throw bag, the kit is fairly small and I’m able to get it 40-50 feet up in a tree without too much effort.
